Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over

The NHTSA supported “Driver Sober or Get Pulled Over” campaign takes place around Labor Day each year. This nationwide mobilization focuses paid media and law enforcement on the awareness and enforcement of the state’s impaired driver laws.

Impaired driving occurs when someone’s ability to safety operate a motor vehicle is compromised due to the inappropriate use of illegal or legal substance.

These grants are for traffic enforcement which is above and beyond enforcement provided by the agencies during their routine traffic operations.

Labor Day is in late August and great for riding your motorcycle or taking a ride through Alabama’s beautiful countryside. Over the past two years, Labor Day impaired driving crashes accounted for 3.4% of all crashes.  This compares to the typical 2.7% we see overall.
