Gov. Ivey awards grants to assist victims of domestic violence in south Alabama

MONTGOMERY – Gov. Kay Ivey has awarded three grants worth a total of $415,000 to organizations that serve victims of domestic violence in south Alabama.

“These grants will help community-based nonprofits continue to provide a safe haven and compassionate care to people in times of danger and distress,” Gov. Ivey said. “I commend these groups for the important work they do to provide professional assistance to domestic violence victims in their time of greatest need.”

The Alabama Department of Economic and Community Affairs is administering the grants with funds made available by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services.
