The Alabama Welfare-to-Work program is an integrated employment and training program that provides transitional employment assistance to move hard-to-employ welfare recipients, certain non-custodial parents and former foster care youth into long-term unsubsidized employment. The program seeks to equip eligible individuals with significant employment barriers -- generally those with poor education, low skills, and little or no job experience -- with the resources and supportive services necessary to find and keep good jobs.
