Child Passenger Protection Grant Program
The Child Passenger Protection Education Grant Program is authorized by section 2003(b) of the Transportation Equity Act for the 21st Century (TEA-21). The program is administered by the National Highway Transportation Safety Administration (NHTSA) at the national level, and in Alabama by the Law Enforcement and Traffic Safety Division of ADECA. The grant program supports to implement a child passenger protection program that is designed to prevent deaths and injuries to children, educate the public concerning the proper installation of child restraints and train child passenger safety personnel concerning child restraint use.

Objective:
Identify low use areas and populations and develop programs to heighten increase.

Eligible Activities:
Child seat clinics, loaner programs (limited), child seat installation certification training (two levels), public information & education.

Eligible Applicants:
Municipal, County and State Governments
