The Human Resources Section provides support to the director of ADECA and the division directors in all areas related to personnel including interview and selection, probationary reports, performance appraisal, salary increases, leave and benefit issues and disciplinary actions.

Human Resources interprets personnel related laws, rules, governmental policies, departmental policies and procedures and court decisions.It also makes recommendations on departmental procedures, policies, plans and forms. In recent years, the staff has recommended changes to classifications, departmental manpower, and conditions of employment.

Employees are provided with accurate information as well as the opportunity for counseling about matters pertaining to work performance and promotional opportunities. The personnel manager attends training sessions, receives updates on relevant legal issues and reviews documents in order to remain current on employment law trends. This information is used to provide accurate guidance to employees and management.
